Healthy Carolina Farmers Market summer dates set
The University of South Carolina encourages campus and Columbia residents to support good health and South Carolina growers this summer at the Healthy Carolina Farmers Market.
The market will operate on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. June 9 and 23 and July 14 and 28. Located between the gates on Greene Street in front of the Russell House University Union, the Healthy Carolina Farmers Market will feature a bounty of fresh and locally produced summer vegetables, strawberries and blueberries, homemade breads and other specialty and handmade items.
Products, which are cash and carry, are competitively priced and sold individually and in bulk.
Launched last fall, the Healthy Carolina Farmers Market has attracted hundreds from the university and community. The market is part of the university’s Healthy Carolina Initiative, which aims to simplify healthy choices. The university has teamed with the S.C. Department of Agriculture to offer the monthly markets.
