Your syllabus may describe your expectations of students use of technology for instruction and communication both in and out of your classroom. But do you know what uses of technology most benefit your students? Do you know what technology students really expect of instructors to use? Are we wasting time creating PowerPoint slideshows or recorded lectures to help them learn? OR is this what students appreciate or expect? What technology do you expect your students to use? Do they respond better to Blackboard, email or Facebook? Understanding student behaviors can lead to more effective and efficient teaching. |
How do you expect technology to be used in the classroom? Faculty members have a variety of technology resources they can utilize during class, but which should they use and how should they use them? How should they communicate with you both in and out of the classroom? To discuss these questions and more, attend the upcoming Mutual Expectations session, with a special focus on technology. A Mutual Expectations session helps open the lines of communication between students and professors regarding their expectations of each other in the classroom setting. |
