Bills generated on your student’s account are sent to the student’s USC email address. Email is the only notification process for billing. Bills are not mailed. The student can set up authorized users to view and/or pay charges on their account. This can be done by logging into Self Service Carolina, going to Account Information, clicking on the Payment Gateway, and then clicking on Authorized User. Please follow the instructions on the screen. Multiple authorized users can be set up on a student’s account. Authorized users cannot set up other authorized users on the student’s account.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prevents the University of South Carolina from releasing student information to parents or guardians without authorized consent from the student.Forms of Payment
Tuition and fees on a student’s account can be paid with an electronic check or a credit card online. Credit or debit card payments must be made online. There is a 2.5% charge for using a credit or debit card. Cash, checks, money orders or cashier’s checks are the only forms of payment accepted in-person. Checks, money orders or cashier’s checks can be mailed into the office, but please do not mail in cash payments.
The University of South Carolina offers a payment plan option for students for the fall and spring semesters. The tuition and fees balance is divided into four equal payments. The plan costs $75.00 per semester to set up. The first payment of 25% and the $75.00 fee are due by the first cancellation date. The remaining three payments are due over the next three months on or around the 10th of the month. There is a late charge of $100.00 per month up to a maximum of $300.00 per semester. The payment plan needs to be set up every semester. Payment plans must be set up online. Please click here for instructions.
