best fit for you. At the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, our job is to provide
you with information that you need to make informed decisions.
We encourage you to review our
requirements for freshmen, transfers and international students, and also note important deadlines for applications and credentials such as official test scores.

Be Prepared for New Student Orientation
In order to help you be better prepared for your first semester at the University
of South Carolina, we have created a New Student Checklist. This checklist will tell
you which tasks you need to complete and which forms you need to submit to the university.
You can use the form before and after orientation to see if any items are still needed.

Once you have logged in with your VIP ID and password, you will be able to view what
items we’ve received and what is still outstanding.

The University of South Carolina is proud to announce that we will be a charter member
of the new Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success. The Coalition is comprised
of 90 of America’s leading colleges and universities, and is dedicated to making the
college search process more accessible for students across the nation. The online
college planning tools are free to all high school students. Students applying to
the University of South Carolina for fall 2017 can use the new Coalition Application.
Students still have the option to submit an application via our admissions website.

No Longer Accepting Major Changes into the Darla Moore School of Business
Due to capacity restrictions, we are no longer accepting freshman, transfer, or readmission
major changes into the Darla Moore School of Business. If you are an admitted freshman
and wish to change your major, you are welcome to visit our
full list of majors and degrees. If you decide you want to change your major to a non-Business major, please contact
the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
If you are a fall 2016 transfer, system transfer, or readmit applicant for a Darla
Moore School of Business major, we will issue final decisions in the summer after
evaluating all applicants and receiving all transcripts. We will only admit the most
qualified applicants who have the strongest GPAs and completion of MATH 122’s transfer
equivalent with a C or better.
Gamecock Gateway Application Update
Gamecock Gateway is very close to reaching capacity for the 2016-2017 academic year,
and we have established a wait list for female students. A small number of spaces
remain for males. Males are encouraged to submit their deposit now to secure their

your $750 deposit.
Freshman Class of 2016 Update
All freshman scholarships for the freshman class of 2016 have been issued. Visit
this link for more information and frequently asked questions about our scholarships. All Capstone Scholar invitations were mailed on Tuesday, March 8. If you have not received your admissions decision but submitted your application and
credentials by our stated deadlines, you will receive an update on your admissions
status during decision week beginning Monday, March 14. All decisions are issued via
United States Postal Service. We do not issue admissions decisions on the phone.
