There are a lot of factors that go into deciding which college or university is the
best fit for you. At the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, our job is to provide
you with information that you need to make informed decisions.
We encourage you to review our
requirements for freshmen, transfers and international students, and also note important deadlines for applications and credentials such as official test scores.

Early Answer Deadline Update
Many applicants were affected by Hurricane Matthew over the weekend. Therefore, the
Early Answer Application deadline has been extended to
Sunday, October 23 at 11:59 PM (ET).
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will accept official October 2016 SAT and ACT
scores for early answer applicants as long as the scores are received by December

If you have submitted an application and want to check on your status, you will receive
an email with instructions shortly.
Fall 2017 Freshman Application is Now Available!
We’re already working on next year’s class! The fall 2017 freshman application is
here. All freshman applicants who apply by October 15 and submit all required credentials
will receive an update on their admissions status by mid-December during Early Answer
Here are some helpful hints before you apply:
Please make sure you obtain a copy of your high school transcript that lists all of
your grades through your junior year of high school
before you begin the application. You will be asked to upload it to your admissions application.
A web-based copy of the transcript is fine, but please make sure it shows your name
and school name!
You will be asked to provide your college counselor’s name and email address. This
allows your counselor to fill out an optional counselor evaluation form on your behalf.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions accepts SAT, ACT, and NACAC application fee
waivers for South Carolina residents only. The University of South Carolina has joined the Coalition for Access, Affordability,
The University of South Carolina is proud to announce that we will be a charter member
of the new Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success. The Coalition is comprised
of 90 of America’s leading colleges and universities, and is dedicated to making the
college search process more accessible for students across the nation. The online
college planning tools are free to all high school students. Students applying to
the University of South Carolina for fall 2017 can use the new Coalition Application.
Students still have the option to submit an application via our admissions website.
