Rebecca Christopher, LMSW

Rebecca Christopher currently serves as the field education coordinator and field educator series coordinator, where she works to place and produce the next generation of social work practitioners. In addition to her role at the College of Social Work, Christopher is also an interprofessional education research assistant at the university. As part of that role, she coordinates an interprofessional health care course, "Transforming Health Care."
Christopher previously worked on several grants focused on improving rural health, recruitment and retention of rural health providers in South Carolina, and opioid use disorder and medication assisted treatment. She has also served as a co-course coordinator for a telemental health course. Her research interests include multi-and-interprofessional practice, education and collaboration; health disparities and education; rural and behavioral health; substance use; and the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals.
Christopher graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Social Work with her Bachelors of Social Work and Masters of Social Work, with a specialization in Health and Mental Health.
