Julia Houston has a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Since 2007, Ms. Houston has served as State Project Leader for the National Patient Advocate Foundation (NPAF) and in 2009, was awarded the National Patient Advocate Foundation's Excellence in Leadership Award and Platinum Award for Patient Advocacy and in 2011, the Gold Award for Patient Advocacy. Ms. Houston is currently the Administrative Coordinator in the Cancer Prevention and Prevention and Control Program of the Arnold School of Public Health. In addition, she serves as a Regional Coordinator in Region 1 of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP).
