College of Pharmacy

Bachelor's in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Pharmaceutical scientists share a broad educational foundation that blends core courses with applied research.

The bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences is an optional degree available from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy for Pharm.D. students who have completed pre-pharmacy coursework and the first two years of the professional program, as well as all Carolina Core requirements. This program, which combines core and laboratory-based coursework, instills the knowledge and skills of a well-rounded and well-educated scientist.

While you cannot practice the profession of pharmacy with a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, the degree is helpful for students interested in pursuing graduate school or who simply want to possess a four-year degree should they decide to not continue their Pharm.D. coursework.

Contact the pharmacy advisement team to determine whether this program is a good fit for you.
