Carolina students who pair Pharm.D. and MBA degrees not only learn the clinical side
of pharmacy, they also gain the business insight and skills required to manage or
own a pharmacy.
A dual Pharm.D./MBA program is ideal for a pharmacist who seeks to add practical business
instruction to professional patient care studies. A joint degree is highly desirable
for students who plan to pursue a career in a hospital or health system, within the
pharmaceutical industry, a pharmacy benefit management organization or academia.
The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy’s dual Pharm.D./MBA is offered
in partnership with the award-winning Darla Moore School of Business and allows students to concurrently achieve both degrees. Pharmacy students will
be able to enroll in the Moore School’s Professional Masters in Business (PMBA) program. As students complete pharmacy school, they can take advantage of the PMBA program’s
course scheduling flexibility with evening classes, recorded lectures and distance
education viewing sites throughout South Carolina and beyond.
