Jannie Tran Noon joins USC's Bands and Orchestra departments in 2018 as the Administrative Coordinator, also serving as a budget manager for the departments. Jannie is a recent graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, holding a Masters degree in Instrumental Performance. During her studies at the Frost School, she was a Teaching Assistant with the Frost "Band of the Hour" athletic bands, assisting and directing the group at various recruiting and athletic events. In addition to teaching, she was a horn fellow in the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, giving her opportunities to perform throughout South Florida and in Los Angeles.
Jannie comes to USC with a broad musical background, diverse professional experience, and an interest in arts management and education administration. Prior to USC, she held positions in education, customer service, marketing, the food and beverage industry, recruiting, and in the non-profit finance sector. Throughout her career, Jannie has maintained a schedule as an active musician and educator, having performed in various groups throughout her hometown of Philadelphia and in South Florida. Jannie holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Temple University.
In her free time, Jannie enjoys traveling and spending time with her corgi, Porgy. She plans on getting another dog and naming her Bess. (Cue xylophone excerpt from Porgy and Bess.)
