Stefanie Hammond is excited to return to the University of South Carolina School of Music as a staff member. She graduated from USC in 2014 where she received a bachelor’s degree in music education and a vocal performance certificate. During her time at Carolina, Ms. Hammond was a member of both the University Choir and the USC Concert Choir and traveled nationally and internationally with the groups. She served as music director the for university's all female a cappella ensemble, The Cocktails, for two years and served as the music chair for her sorority.
Prior to working for the university, Ms. Hammond served as choral director at Kelly Mill Middle School in Blythewood, SC, and as associate choral director at Wando High School, Charleston, SC.
Ms. Hammond remains active in the music community today. She is both a choir member and a member of the board of directors for the Sandlapper Singers in Columbia, and a member of Dr. Alicia Walker’s choir, “Limited Time Only.”
She is on the Leadership Team for FACETS Retreat, an organization founded in 2016 for women conductors, focused on leadership development, fostering mentoring relationships, and opportunities for networking.
Ms. Hammond is from Northern Virginia, but is happy to now call Columbia home. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time exploring local eats around town. She has a strong passion for music education and is very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the School of Music team.
