If you would like to stay with an alumni for an away rotation or interview, we’d love to hear from you. Our alumni are happy to provide insights about the city in which they live and, occasionally, a specific residency. Some are also able to provide overnight accommodations in their home for you. Many hosts go above and beyond by offering transportation to and from interviews and airports, home cooked meals, guided tours of the area and invaluable professional insight on the regional medical community and your prospective medical center.

Terms and Conditions of Participating in the HOST Program: *

I understand that the information given to me about the host I will be staying with is confidential and that I may not share it with my classmates without the permission of the host and the Alumni Office.I understand that I am serving as a representative of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. I will do my best to inform my host(s) of changes and updates at the University and I will speak of the USC SOM with pride to my host(s). I understand that participation in the HOST program is a privilege and the Alumni Office reserves the right to grant access to the program.I understand that if my travel plans change or if I no longer require the assistance of a host, I will contact my host as soon as possible. I understand that hosts cannot be found for all students and that I may need to utilize a back-up plan for accommodations during my travel. The USC SOM is not to be held responsible if I am unable to travel to my destination due to lack of hosts in that area.I agree to follow the rules set by my host. I will respect their property, privacy, and time while I am a guest. I understand that I have the right to leave my host's home for any reason. I also understand that my host has the right to ask me to leave for any reason at any time. In either event, I would contact the Alumni Office to report any problems and possibly request a new host.I am aware that the only responsibilities of the host are to provide me with a clean place to sleep and shower. I am responsible for my own food and transportation unless the host would like to offer their services in these areas.I am aware that the HOST volunteers consist of all alumni listed in the database maintained by the Alumni Office and volunteers are not screened in any way.
