Dr. Carter provides strategic leadership for the overall direction of the Center.
He has a vested interest in teaching and training up-and-coming health care providers
and supporting innovative health care delivery in rural communities in South Carolina.
Ms. Stanek provides leadership and vision within the Center through strategic planning.
She has extensive knowledge and expertise in practice improvement and transformation which
she has imparted in numerous rural health clinics and rural practices throughout South
Kevin Bennett, PhD, Director of Research and Evaluation
Dr. Bennett is responsible for the Center’s research initiatives, analyzing big data,
and focusing on how knowledge generated by the Center informs work internally and
state-wide. He also serves on multiple committees in the National Rural Health Association.
Ms. McGill is responsible for ensuring seamless project management and delivery in
alignment with the Center’s priorities and strategies. She has worked in the public
and non-profit sectors on several public and community health initiatives.
Brittany Wesley, Administrative Coordinator
Ms. Wesley is responsible for the effective management of financial and HR service
needs of the Center. She has worked in the university system since she graduated
from the University of South Carolina!
William Anderson, MD, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer
Bill Anderson, MD, is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer
at the School of Medicine. Dr. Anderson was instrumental in the establishment of the
Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare in 2017 and is still an integral part in shaping
the Center today.
