Carolyn S. Morris manages internal operations, oversees implementation of contracts and grant awards, and coordinates with funding agencies. She also advises the Director on program issues and participates in management decision-making. Prior to joining the Children’s Law Center, she was the Kershaw County Coordinator for the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program where she recruited, trained, and supervised volunteers to serve as advocates for children in family court. She was also the Director of the Kershaw County Sexual Assault Center (now Family Resource Center) and a Medical Social Worker with the Kershaw Medical Center (now Kershaw Health). Carolyn is a member of the Board of Social Work Examiners and the Columbia College Coalition for Social Work Education Committee. She is a co-author of My Court Notebooks, printed by the State Office of Victim Assistance. She is a recipient of the Professional Service Award from the South Carolina Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, and in 2008, was named Advocate of the Year by the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. She earned her M.S.W. from the University of South Carolina School of Social Work and B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
