Emma Belcher serves as the Court Liaison for Anderson and Oconee counties. She assists the family court by tracking and expediting the legal processing of child protection and termination of parental rights (TPR) cases. She is responsible for reviewing case files, preparing information sheets for the court, and assisting in resolving issues to prevent delayed hearings. Before working with Children’s Law Center, she was a state attorney for the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Child Support Services Division for over seven years. Prior to that, she was an in-house attorney in the Northern Virginia area for over 10 years. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Sociology from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from George Washington University School of Law.
