Amanda Adler serves as Senior Resource Attorney to the Joint Citizens and Legislative Committee on Children. She works with policymakers, service providers and stakeholders to identify the most pressing needs of children in the state and to make policy and legislative recommendations to improve the lives of South Carolina’s youngest citizens. Amanda began her legal career in education law and policy at South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center where her efforts were focused on representing students with special needs to access an appropriate education. She has written training materials and presented for a wide range of audiences and has published on topics related to student drop-out, teacher retention, and school finance. She also worked as Director of the Rural Education Finance Center of the Rural School and Community Trust. Amanda is a former educator who has taught in public schools in South Carolina and Georgia. She has a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University.
