College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management

Visiting Scholar Program

Each year, USC's College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) hosts multiple visiting scholars. The Visiting Scholar Program covers almost every continent, including Ireland, Turkey, China and South Korea, just to name a few. We encourage visiting scholars to share their experience and knowledge with us by hosting small lectures while they are at the University of South Carolina. A tremendous amount of joint research has been conducted with College of HRSM faculty.

The College of HRSM has a robust visiting scholar program that provides opportunities for research, joint teaching, database accessibility, office space and summer housing at our Columbia, South Carolina campus. The University of South Carolina international offices provide exchange-based immigration services as needed.

Goals of the program:

  • Collaboration with an HRSM faculty member in research and publication
  • Contribution to HRSM guest lecture series
  • Enhancement between visitor’s home institution and USC
  • Future research or data collection
