HRSM Clubs and Organizations
The College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) strives to maximize
personal growth and development in students by providing a variety of opportunities
for involvement, service and leadership in co-curricular activities.
HRSM is home to 17 different student-run organizations at the University of South

College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management
are a group of highly visible students who represent the College of Hospitality, Retail,
and Sport Management. HRSM ambassadors assist with the planning and staffing of many
college events including conferences, alumni, and recruiting.
Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management
At the beginning of each semester, a student organization fair is held for students
in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. Here you'll have an opportunity
to see all the organizations available and join the one(s) you're interested in.
Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI)
educates anyone with interests in wedding planning, wedding design and decor, or event
planning. AfWPI hosts visits to venues and dress shops, meets with local planners,
attends bridal shows, and volunteers with South Carolina wedding companies.
AfWPI is headquartered nationally in Sacramento, CA, and the University of South Carolina
is the first student chapter in the world! Membership offers worldwide members for
networking, 1000+ job postings available on the website within the wedding and hospitality
industry and opportunities for internship connections.
Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI)
Club Managers Association of America (CMAA)
expands knowledge of club management to those students working to obtain a career
in club management through club visitations, guest speakers, regional meetings and
participation in national functions of CMAA.
Collegiate DECA at USC
seeks to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality,
Theme Park and Attractions Club
gives members an inside look at how theme parks and attractions are operated and managed.
The club hosts guest speakers, takes field trips and discusses different topics at
bi-weekly meetings which enhance club members' understanding of the industry.
ETA SIGMA DELTA
is an honor society recognizing exceptional academic achievement among hospitality
and tourism students. Eta Sigma Delta is administered by the international association
and is devoted to hospitality and tourism education.
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals
student chapter, is the international professional association serving members working
in hospitality. HFTP is dedicated to providing members with extraordinary networking
opportunities, industry-leading certification programs and events, and essential resources
for professional growth.
International Hospitality and Tourism Graduate Student Association
provides graduate students pursuing a master's degree in international hospitality
and tourism management at HRSM with the potential for networking among graduate students,
faculty and industry leaders.
National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH)
educates in order to aid the recruitment, retention, support and advancement of minority
students in the hospitality industry.
provides education, networking opportunities and industry experience to all HRTM students
interested in a career in events, conventions or meeting planning. HRTM Planners is
a combination of two professional student organizations, Professional Convention Management
Association (PCMA) and Meeting Planners International (MPI).
Cocky Couture is a student organization that educates and promotes communication and
business skills within its members through philanthropic activities benefiting the
citizens of Columbia, South Carolina. The student-run charitable organization is dedicated to providing free clothing donations
to underprivileged Columbia residents. The club is working to establish Cocky Couture
pop-up retail stores where residents in need can find clothing that doesn’t just fit,
but feels good.

Fashion Board at USC
works to put on various events as well as educate the community about fashion. Each
year the organization hosts USC Fashion Week in the spring.

Retail and Fashion Merchandising Graduate Student Organization (RFMGSO)
raises funds for retailing events, trips and seminars. The group focuses on ways to
improve the Retailing programs and how to attract prospective candidates to the major.
National Retail Federation
provides talented students interested in retail careers with unique educational and
scholarship programs, networking opportunities and access to the latest industry news

Sigma Psi Mu
Individually Strong, Together Powerful
Sigma Psi Mu is a co-ed professional Sport and Entertainment Fraternity, founded at
the University of South Carolina, organized to provide a platform for highly-involved
and academically gifted SPTE students. It is our mission to grow our brotherhood through
professional development, social bonding, and real-world networking opportunities.
We do so in order to prepare and develop professionally for a career in the sport,
entertainment and venue industries. Sigma Psi Mu strives to benefit not only its members,
but all University of South Carolina SPTE students, staff, and faculty. Sigma Psi
Mu assists the College of HRSM in continuing to develop industry-ready sport, entertainment
and venue professionals.

provides graduate students in the department of sport and entertainment management
with the potential for networking among graduate students, faculty and industry leaders.
Country Music Association Education (CMA EDU)
is an extension of the Country Music Association brand intended for students to better
understand the music industry, specifically the country genre. CMA leverages these
organizations for research, marketing, and promotional use on their respective campuses.
For students who are interested in a career in the music or entertainment industry,
CMA EDU provides valuable opportunities to explore the field, network with industry
professionals, and build a resume through volunteer and project participation.
