Event Types

The Honors POP Series (Programs, Opportunities and Pathways) features reoccurring events that help Honors students connect with the experiences, resources and opportunities that enrich their collegiate journeys. Through monthly pop-ins and pop-ups, students gain awareness of both Honors-specific and campus-wide pathways that support academic success, personal growth, leadership development and meaningful engagement (all while having popcorn!)

Internal Discovery Sessions, or Pop-Ins

Internal discovery sessions, fondly referred to as "pop-ins," focus on Honors-specific opportunities. These sessions help students better understand and navigate pathways such as the Beyond the Classroom requirement, student organizations, engagement initiatives and other programs designed to maximize their Honors experience. Pop-ins will occur within Honors spaces and bring the Honors Experience Program team to the students.

External Discovery Sessions, or Pop-Ups

External discovery sessions, or "pop-ups," explore and introduce students to opportunities available across the university. Honors students will get connected to campus resources, programs, services and experiences beyond the Honors College. These sessions help students explore the broader university ecosystem while highlighting how they can leverage these resources and opportunities to support their academic, professional and personal goals. Examples of areas we will explore may include the Leadership and Service Center, the Carolina Experience, Office of Undergraduate Research, Graduation with Leadership Distinction, the Career Center and Student Health and Well-Being.
