Erica Elbery

Erica Elbery began working at the University of South Carolina in 2005 and joined the Honors College in 2018 to serve as Internship Coordinator and Academic Advisor.  In addition to her SCHC role, Erica teaches a career management course for business majors (BADM 301) and the first year seminar course, University 101.

Prior to joining the Honors College, Erica served for 4 years as the Internship Director for the USC Department of Retailing and 2 years as a Program Manager-Career Development Coach for the USC Career Center.  Before that she coordinated USC Campus Recreation’s fitness programs, earning a National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Gold Excellence Award in 2008 for her innovative programming and instructor training model.   

Erica is dedicated to professional development and serving the university community.  She is currently a member of the Cooperative Education and Internship Association (CEIA) and has been selected to present at the annual conference in 2018 and 2019.  She is a past member and co-chair for the USC Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Team (2007 - 2011) and has been asked to serve on numerous task forces and university committees over the years.

Originally from Connecticut, Erica is a graduate of the Elon University Honors College (B.A. Communications) and Illinois State University (M.S. Recreation Administration).  She and her husband Derek, a USC alum, live in Springdale with their son James.
