MacKenzie graduated from the South Carolina Honors College in 2022 with a bachelor's in psychology and minors in music and counselor education. During her time as an undergraduate student, MacKenzie worked at the Student Success Center as a program assistant/mentor and as a research assistant for the School Behavioral Health Team. MacKenzie is particularly interested in youth mental health, advocacy work and empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities. She plans to attend graduate school to get her Ph.D. in clinical-community psychology next year. 
 
Beyond academia, MacKenzie is also extremely passionate about the arts. She has played the flute for over a decade, marched trombone with the Carolina Band and served as the president of the Theta Chi chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity. In her free time, MacKenzie enjoys making art (ceramics, paintings, etc.), going to concerts and reading poetry.  As a South Carolina native and Honors alum, MacKenzie is excited to make a difference in the local community and give back to the place she has called home these past four years.
