Minors
The College of Engineering and Computing offers four undergraduate minors to supplement your major program of study. Minors are available in the following areas:
Also, engineering and computing students can choose from more than 80 minors from
across the university. In order to know what courses are required in a desired minor,
please refer to the majors and minors page of the Undergraduate Bulletin. To declare
a minor, submit a completed copy of the Minor Declaration Form to Student Services,
Suite 1A00, Swearingen Engineering Center.
Capstone Design Initiative
As an undergraduate student, you'll test your knowledge in real-world applications. The Capstone Design course is a required course for seniors that pairs a student team with an industry partner on a project to design an engineering or computing solution to a business problem.
Accelerated Degrees
The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Master's Program allows a student to work on both degrees simultaneously, greatly decreasing the time it takes to earn a Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree. The program allows students to count as many as 12 credits of course work in their senior year (500-level and above) for both the B.S. and master's degree. Accelerated programs are offered in the following programs:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Nuclear Engineering
