Chemical Engineering

Degree Programs

The chemical engineering department awards degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in chemical engineering.

Within six years of graduation, our B.S.E. graduates are expected to achieve one or more of the following milestones:

  • Advance professionally in the chemical process industries or in their chosen career field.
  • Earn advanced degrees in chemical engineering (or related technical disciplines), medicine, law, or business.
  • Attain leadership positions in today's rapidly changing, increasingly technological, global society.

Ranked in the top 50 for graduate studies by the "U.S. News and World Report," our chemical engineering graduate program assures students that they will receive a top quality education and research experience.

Chemical engineering at UofSC boasts state-of-the-art facilities, a dynamic faculty, and vigorous research programs. Full-time Ph.D. student stipends currently are in excess of $25,000 per year with tuition, and students may receive partial health insurance support paid by the university. NSF Fellows and other students with similar fellowships can receive stipends totaling over $42,000 per year.
