B.S.E. - Chemical Engineering

What will I study?

We strive to provide you with a thorough grounding in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering; to educate students in the application of mathematics and science in chemical processes; and to prepare you for graduate studies in chemical engineering, professional studies in medical school, or professional careers in chemical engineering industries.

Our curriculum provides a strong foundation in the basic and applied sciences, as well as in the liberal arts, to provide you with a well-balanced education.


What can I specialize in?

The curriculum provides the opportunity to engage in different technical and engineering electives, laboratory course components, and a capstone design experience.

You may choose between biomolecular, materials, energy, and elective components and design experiences will be tailored to your specific interests.


How can I enhance my degree?

Capstone Design Initiative

As an undergraduate student, you'll test your knowledge in real-world applications. The Capstone Design course is a required course for seniors that pairs a student team with an industry partner on a project to design an engineering or computing solution to a business problem.

B.S.E with Distinction

The B.S.E with Distinction is available to students majoring in chemical engineering who wish to participate in significant research and/or design activities in chemical engineering with a faculty mentor. The undergraduate bulletin provides full details on this degree option. 

Accelerated Program

With our Bachelor’s/Master’s Degrees Accelerated Program you may be eligible to complete both the bachelor's degree and master's degree in as few as five years. The use of dual credit-courses that can be used toward both degrees enables acceleration of the program, reducing the total enrollment of the student by one semester.
