Alpha Eta Mu Beta MINDS Scholarship

Congratulations to BME senior Tessa Posey for being selected as a Mentoring for INnovative Design Solutions (MINDS) scholar! Over the next month she will be working on a inter-institutional team to design and create a novel and clinically-translatable  medical device or technology. Ed Gatzke is 'SPUR'ing academic success for low-income students

UofSC's CEC has received nearly $1 million in funding through a grant from the NSF to implement programs that increase graduation rates of high-achieving, low-income students in undergraduate engineering and computing degree programs.

With a two-year $250,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health, Chang Liu is assembling a research team of four graduate and post-doc students to create and miniturize a test that can detect TB antigens in the blood using nanopore technology.

BME is welcoming Assistant Professor Dr. Chang Liu to the Program! Dr. Liu received his PhD from Florida International University in 2013 and is most recently joining us from Arizona State University. His research interests are biosensor development and biomarker discovery using nanomaterials.
