Areas of expertise

Douglas Smith’s research focuses on community college accountability environments.  Specifically, Smith explores accountability issues related to student outcomes, budgeting, spending, and planning.  He is also interested in the role of community colleges in rural communities, community college partnerships, and access to higher education.
