Early childhood education

Sherrie Dueno is the Network Director for the South Carolina Child Care Resource & Referral Network with the Yvonne & Schuyler Moore Child Development Research Center at the University of South Carolina. She is instrumental in the development of a statewide network of Training & Development Directors that assist early care and education programs to increase the quality levels of their services to children and families in South Carolina. She has held a variety of early childhood leadership roles as Director of Individual Professional Advancement, Environment Assessment Rating Scale Evaluator, Child Development Associate Advisor and Program Coordinator of a statewide Child Care Apprenticeship pilot program in partnership with the Department of Labor. She appeared regularly on a local television program demonstrating parent and child engagement activities to promote the concept of the parent as a child's first teacher. Her commitment to the field has led her to lifelong membership and activism in local, state and national early childhood education associations. She has the privilege to share her knowledge of early childhood best practices as a South Carolina Certified Master Trainer with parents, early childhood educators and community members.
