Vanessa N. Dominguez (O’Hare) is an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina. She received her Master of Arts in Counselor Education with an emphasis in couples, marriage, and family therapy and mental health counseling from the University of Central Florida (UCF). Dominguez’s previous clinical experience includes counseling survivors of intimate partner violence at the YWCA of Hampton Roads. She also served as a Clinical Counselor at Children’s Home Society of Central Florida, providing in-home clinical and supportive counseling services to children and their families as well as a Family Services Counselor and Relationship Educator on a federally funded research grant, Project T.O.G.E.T.H.E.R at the UCF Marriage and Family Research Institute. She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern in the State of Florida and a certified facilitator in PREP (Prevention Relationship Enhancement Program) and Becoming Parents Program (BPP). Her research interests include relationship and family adjustment, particularly in parents of children diagnosed with special needs as well as women’s mental health issues.
