Clinical Assistant Professor in Curriculum Studies

The Department of Instruction and Teacher Education at the University of South Carolina seeks applications for two (2) non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor positions, both for 9-month appointments, to begin Spring 2019 or Fall 2019.

Resoponsibilities Include

The successful candidate will be expected to (1) teach graduate courses in Curriculum Studies, Research Methods, and Equity Pedagogies and (2) engage in curriculum development and support the service needs of the Curriculum Studies program and department.


Required Education and Experience

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Foundations, or a related field. Experience with online teaching/learning formats (e.g., Blackboard, Adobe Connect, Zoom) is required. Must have excellent teaching skills, evidence of a continued record of strong scholarly productivity, and the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.


Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates with expertise in action and improvement science research, paradigms of social justice in education, and multiple content area preparation for P-12 and higher education will be given strong consideration. Evidence of academic scholarship including publications and research presentations is desirable.

Application materials accepted online include a: (1) letter of application addressing background preparation, teaching philosophy, online courses taught with format/platform used, scholarly agenda, service interests, (2) current curriculum vitae, (3) list of at least three professional references to include e-mail addresses and phone numbers, and (4) copy of unofficial academic transcript(s) (PLEASE NOTE-official copies will be required of finalists), and (5) a sample publication or piece of scholarly work.

PLEASE NOTE: The submission of three (3) letters of recommendation will be required for all finalists.

Review of completed applications will begin November 1, 2018 and will continue until the positions are filled. Priority will be given to those whose applications are received by November 1, 2018.
