Our Leadership

Our leadership is motivated by our vision for the College to become the home of a National Resource Center on equity and justice issues in education and is guided by our core values statement: Achieving excellence by transforming diversity and inclusion into equity and justice.

Michelle L. Bryan, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

From 2006-2015, Michelle L. Bryan was a member of the Educational Foundations and Inquiry faculty in the Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education at the University of South Carolina. In 2017, she became the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

"When I look at the expertise of the colleagues around me, there’s a deep richness around topics of diversity, equity and inclusion in this building. We have so many folks coming at these topics from their own disciplines. I’m also impressed by how connected our faculty is when it comes to these issues."


Margo N. Jackson, Director of Student Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement

Margo Jackson is a native of South Carolina.  She has worked at the College of Education in various roles since 2004.  She currently serves as the Director for Student Diversity, inclusion and Engagement.

"We have to keep looking forward as we continue our twofold mission of making education accessible to all students and attracting, retaining and producing the best teacher leaders in the state of South Carolina."
