Jewish Holiday of Shavuot, May 25-27

Shavuot is a Jewish holiday that takes place in late spring. In 2023, Shavuot begins at sunset on Thursday, May 25, and ends at sundown on Saturday, May 27. Shavuot commemorates the Biblical story of Revelations on Mount Sinai in which Moses receives the Ten Commandments from God. Services are held at synagogues. Jewish students or employees observing Shavuot may stay home from work during this period, and some may request schedule adjustments to observe.
