AEJMC Southeast Colloquium 2019

The Colloquium will be held at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Thursday through Saturday, March 7-9, 2019.  It takes place in conjunction with the Media & Civil Rights History Symposium.

Full conference details  — including paper and panel submission links, online registration, keynote speaker and other information — will be added as they become available.

Colloquium:   March 7 - 9, 2019
Thur., March 7:  Opening reception - 6 p.m.
Fri., March 8:  Full day of programming, including keynote luncheon
Sat., March 9:  8:30 a.m., AEJMC Business Meeting (& paper awards)

Symposium:  March 8 - 9, 2019
Fri., March 8:  Begins with keynote luncheon and afternoon programming
Sat., March 9:  Symposium programming and Farrar Award luncheon

Call for Submissions

Authors are now invited to submit research papers, research-in-progress abstracts, and panel proposals for the 44th Annual AEJMC Southeast Colloquium.


AEJMC will handle the online registrations for the Colloquium. We will post the link when it becomes available.


Faculty - $130
Student - $100 student
Fee includes the opening reception as well as Friday's keynote luncheon.

Colloquium registrants who also wish to attend the Media & Civil Rights History Symposium can do so for an additional $65 (faculty) and $50 (student).

Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Inn at USC at a rate of $139 per night for Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 9. Call 803-779-7779 and mention AEJMC Colloquium by Feb. 7, 2019. You must call to get this discounted rate; do not book online.
