Athletics Tutor, USC

Gamecock athletics is hiring.  

The Tutor Program provides subject-specific assistance to student-athletes as a supplement to the classroom learning experience. The primary responsibility of a tutor is to understand and clearly communicate course content and study skills to the tutees. One-on-one and group tutoring is available in a broad array of courses.

Tutoring is based on student need. Hours are flexible but not guaranteed. The pay is $8 per hour for undergraduate students, and $10 per hour for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Tutor Qualifications:

 Minimum of 30 college credit hours completed
 Minimum of a 3.2 overall GPA
 Minimum of a 3.5 GPA (B+) in specific courses tutored
 Strong communication skills
 Ability to relate to students of diverse academic backgrounds

Photographer, Campus Recreation

Position: Student Photographer for Campus Recreation at the University of South Carolina

Position Summary:

Maintain a consistent visual identity to represent, advertise and promote Campus Recreation’s facilities and programs within the established guidelines and standards of the University of South Carolina Assist program and facility staff in promoting aspects of Campus Recreation through the use of photos in the most effective and efficient means possible
Work in a fast paced environment that strives toward accuracy, creativity and meeting set goals and deadlines
Work with designer to keep the photo library up to date

This is a paid position consisting of 10K15 hours per week and is a great way to build your portfolio and gain real world experience

Position Specifications:

  • Must have knowledge of photojournalistic composition elements that coincides with candid, sports photography such as rule of thirds, depth and point of view
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of SLR cameras and photo management; sports photography experience helpful
  • Own/have access to SLR camera
  • Experience in shooting promotional video is a plus
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with short turnaround times
  • Timer management skills and ability to multi task
  • Available to work 10r 15 hours a week; must be able to work some nights and weekends
  • Must be a University of South Carolina Columbia student
  • Availability to work over the summer is a plus
