Christina L. Myers is a second-year doctoral student, scholar in the Grace Jordan McFadden Professors Program and AEJMC Presidential Diversity & Inclusion Career Development Graduate Student Fellow.
Myers is a journalist, serving on the government and politics team with The State newspaper where she covers the intersection of race, culture and policy. Her past experience includes working as a political journalist for the Associated Press and National Desk writer for NBC News Channel.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, South Carolina Press Association and Black Graduate Student Association secretary for the '20-'21 academic year.
In Spring 2021, Myers will teach Freedom, Responsibility and Ethics in Mass Media.
Her responsibilities as a teacher go beyond the walls of the classroom. While it is her mission to ensure that students learn and are able to apply the practical and theoretical skills of journalism, it is equally important to help mold students into engaged citizens, empathetic to the changing dynamics of our society as they practice civility, good ethical conduct and selfless service.
