Background

Everyone has a fascinating story to tell. Currently, I am writing about the African American press and South Carolina's pioneering civil rights lawyer Matthew J. Perry for my dissertation. Conducting oral history interviews with historical figures, uncovering civil rights history, and sharing the similar crafts of research and journalism with students and the general public make each day an adventure.
