School climate is a complex and ever-changing construct. Elevating Youth Voices is a research-practice partnership between UofSC faculty, graduate students, and local school administrators. Our interdisciplinary team works in conjunction with school counselors to employ evidence-based practices in designing flexible, adaptive, and empowerment-based programs for middle school students in the Midlands area. Current programs include tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, advocacy workshops, socio-emotional programming, and specialized topic groups such as exploring concepts of masculinity.
Dr. Mariah Kornbluh is a UofSC Assistant Professor of Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies Department Affiliate. She is the founder of Elevating Youth Voices.
