Dr. Saskia Coenen Snyder
Dr. Coenen Snyder (Ph.D. University of Michigan) is Associate Professor of History at the University of South Carolina, specializing in Modern Jewish History. She is currently working on her second book, tentatively titled Diasporic Gems: Diamonds, Jews, and Nineteenth-Century Global Commerce, which examines the role of Jewish merchants, diamantairs, cutters and polishers in the late-nineteenth century transatlantic diamond trade. She has served as Associate Director of the Walker Institute since 2015.
