Drayton Hall Theatre

A poetic adaptation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, translated from its authentic Latin by USC History Professor Andrew Berns and driven by movement and text alike, Orpheus navigates ancient landscapes in the context of our own time. Directed by Associate Professor of Dance André Megerdichian, this unique collaboration between USC Theatre and the Betsy Blackmon Dance Program features an ensemble of theatre and dance students accompanied by musical director/composer Amos Hoffman, an internationally renowned jazz guitarist and oud player. Initially inspired by the collaborative work of Kate Joyce and Andrew Berns: Metamorphoses (Special Problems Press, 2021).
