Psychology Services Center

The Psychology Services Center is a mental health clinic serving patients in the Columbia, South Carolina region. It is also a training and research facility of the psychology department at the University of South Carolina. 
The PSC has a two-fold mission: to be a mental health resource for our underserved community members and to provide hands-on training for students in the Clinical-Community and School Psychology doctoral concentrations. 

Our Services

The PSC provides support, assessments and intervention to children, families, couples and individual adults through our sliding-scale payment program to keep services affordable. 

We support clients with: 

  • Adjusting to difficult life circumstances (e.g., divorce, loss, work stress) 
  • Attention issues  
  • Child behavioral issues  
  • Coping with traumatic life events 
  • Couples therapy  
  • Depression 
  • Nervousness or anxiety 
  • Social Skills 

Our assessment and evaluation services focus on: 

  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) 
  • Autism spectrum disorders 
  • Evaluations for testing accommodations
  • Competency evaluations
  • Disability applications
  • Differential diagnoses (Comprehensive psychological evaluation)
  • Developmental disabilities
  • Learning disorders
