|Title:||Chief Curator of Folklife and Fieldwork
College of Arts and Sciences
A native South Carolinian, Taylor received his MA in folklore from Western Kentucky University, with a focus on traditional foodways and the built environment. Managing the Folklife Resource Center – an archive housing documentation from over thirty years of project-driven fieldwork – provides him the opportunity to work with talented musicians, artists, and community leaders throughout the region. He actively works with other McKissick Museum curatorial staff to develop exhibitions that explore and celebrate the traditions that make the Southeast such a unique place to live and work.
