Dr. Ivashkevich’s research interests include girlhood studies, social justice and feminist pedagogies, and children’s and youth new media production. She is an affiliate of Women’s and Gender Studies program and conducts art and new media workshops for at-risk girls from local communities. Dr. Ivashkevich co-edited an interdisciplinary anthology “Girls, Cultural Productions, and Resistance” (with Michelle S. Bae) published by Peter Lang. Her articles appeared in a number of peer-reviewed journals such as Studies in Art Education, Visual Arts Research, International Journal of Education & the Arts, Visual Culture and Gender, Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education, and Art Education.
