Serving as the Communications Manager since 2016, Amanda has played a significant role in the development and marketing of new exhibitions and programs at McKissick Museum. She’s dedicated to creating innovative engagement strategies that connect audiences to create a dynamic and lasting relationship. Prior to joining the University of South Carolina, Amanda completed her Master of Arts in Museum Communication from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and worked for a multitude of museums and nonprofits including the National Building Museum (Washington, DC), the National Marine Corps Museum (Triangle, VA), and Art-Reach (Philadelphia, PA). By beginning her career in museum collections, Amanda has developed a unique perspective when it comes to capturing the stories behind exhibitions and the objects that they display. She is delighted to be able use those skills to help McKissick “Tell the Story of Southern Life…Community, Culture, and the Environment”.
When she’s not creating content for the Museum’s social media channels , Amanda enjoys road trips with her dog, photography, and annoying her coworkers with way too many Star Wars references.
