Conducting Inclusive Faculty Searches Workshops (Information and Registration)
The Office of the Dean will be holding two virtual Fall 2021 Faculty Search Committee Diversity Training Workshops this fall, facilitated by Interim Associate Dean Dr. Todd Shaw. These sessions will provide search committees with best practices for recruiting diverse and inclusive faculty applicant pools and finalists as well as interviewing, offer, and retention factors.
The sessions will be held on the following dates:
- Friday, September 17th: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM – via Zoom
- Friday, October 1st: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM – via Zoom
Department Chairs/Directors, Search Committee Chairs and/or Affirmative Action Advocates in units that have approved faculty searches for this academic year must attend one of the above sessions to share this information with your respective search committees.
The Office of the Dean will also be holding an optional session for any department chair that has a faculty search or unit administrator search authorized for this academic year. These sessions, Search Committee Overview, will be offered directly following each Diversity Training Workshop:
- Friday, September 17th: 11:00 AM-11:30 AM – via Zoom
- Friday, October 1st: 11:00 AM-11:30 AM – via Zoom
Please complete the CAS Conducting Inclusive Faculty Searches Registration Form.
As in the past, the Department Chair or Director is responsible for ensuring that all search committee members undergo search committee training at the departmental level using the previous materials provided by the CAS HR team.
Please contact Associate Dean Todd Shaw with any questions regarding these sessions.
