Bio: Jordan’s area of interest is in the National and State Park services and their intersection with NAGPRA, Native American history and representation, and colonialism. Her undergraduate research focused on journalism history where she researched Native Americans in the 19th century press. She has presented her work at the Transnational Journalism History conference in Canada in 2018 and the Netherlands in 2019, and the Southeastern American Journalism Historians Association Conference in the United States in 2018 and 2019. Jordan has published two articles in the Southeastern Review of Journalism History in 2018 and 2020, and one book chapter in Politics, Culture, and the Irish American Press: 1784-1963 in January 2021.
Since graduating in 2019, Jordan has been employed as an Assistant Ranger with the South Carolina State Park Service. Through her work as an Assistant Ranger and internships with the Aiken County Historical Museum she has been able to gain experience in collections management, contribute to virtual and physical exhibits, guide tour groups, and assist in education programs. In her free time, she likes to read, hike, and spend time with her horse.
