Biography:
Delaney is a first-year doctoral student, working to earn her Ph.D. in English and American Literature. She has produced work on Disney studies, childhood nostalgia, feminism and democracy in adolescent texts, and now researches picture books and visual narratives. Delaney has presented at conferences for the Children’s Literature Association (ChLA), Popular Culture Association (PCA), and Kansas Association of Teachers in English (KATE). Prior to graduate studies, Delaney worked in college journalism writing for women’s magazines. She is also a graduate teaching assistant in the First-Year English program, teaching ENGL 101 and 102. Delaney has taught courses in expository writing, rhetoric and composition, and children’s literature. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida in 2022, writing her undergraduate thesis on emerging themes in queer YA literature, and earned her master’s degree in English from Kansas State University in 2024.
