Biography:
Meg Robertson Hultgren (she/her) is a PhD student at the University of South Carolina
studying Composition and Rhetoric. Her background in English Education and Women’s
and Gender Studies informs her critical research on gender-neutral language. Meg focuses
on the power of action and enaction to critically challenge, bring to light, and create
accessible and effective boulevards to undo social, political, and cultural harmful
and pervasive ideologies that do linguistic violence. Her aim is to continue the work
of undoing systemic injustice through understanding and navigating complex terrains
with rhetorical intentionality. Her work can be seen in Critical Sexuality Studies, Lavender Languages, and Everyday Life (Bloomsbury, 2024) and in Ex ӕquo 49 (2024).
