Chelsea is a fourth-year English Literature Ph.D. candidate whose primary research focuses on representations of black masculinities in young adult fiction. While she was born in South Carolina, she spent most of her life in Florida where she received both her Bachelors in English at the University of Florida and Masters in English Literature at the University of North Florida. Recently, she presented a paper at Monmouth University on Zora Neale Hurston's Barracuda and storytelling as healing. She loves a breezy day spent with her fiancé, hot tea, and a good book.
