The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Arabic Studies. The successful candidate will be able to teach Arabic at all levels, have native or near native fluency in Modern Standard Arabic, and competency in at least one dialect. Specializations in fields such as Arabic literature in the context of world literature, postcolonial studies, translation studies, and/or transnational feminism would be desirable. Additional requirements include demonstrated interest in promoting effective language teaching; a record of commitment to scholarly research; and experience teaching at the college level. A Ph.D. in Arabic or related field completed by August 15, 2019 is required.
