SLIS 752 - Diversity in Libraries

Class Session: Monday, June 04, 2018 - Thursday, August 02, 2018

Credit: 3 semester hours of graduate credit

Note: Please register for this course by May 28, 2018. Sections for this course: J50 (students in SC), J91 (Other States Cohort) and J92 (Other Countries Cohort). Sections J91 and J92 students pay the cohort tuition rate.


Course Description

Nontraditional library users in all types of libraries. Literacy programs, disabled and/or institutionalized persons, older adults, and members of selected ethnic groups.


Online Session Information

There will be online sessions via Adobe Connect on Mondays, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. ET. Students are required/mandatory to view the sessions live online. All students are responsible for the material covered. The Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the first class meeting. High-speed Internet access is required for Adobe Connect.


Course Delivery Type

A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.

(100% asynchronous - if course has any online or face-to-face meetings, live attendance will not be required. For any such sessions, there will be alternative ways to view or obtain the material covered).
