Participation / Being a Team Member

Those who have submitted proposals to be team leads do not need to also complete the team member process.

Team members are critical for the success of research that will be conducted in the time period between the 2020 and 2021 conferences. Team members will be diverse in terms of research or practitioner experience. Team members are expected to engage with Team Leaders and other members with varied backgrounds, research training and fields, and who are in varied locations.

The RFP process for those wishing to participate on a team requires that individuals: (1) submit rationale for wishing to participate; (2) indicate their willingness to actively participate on a research team for the 14-16 months following the conference; and (3) indicate their intent to present at the 2021 follow up conference. It is expected that team members will actively work to keep the project moving forward.

Individuals accepted as team members will submit a short video of introduction and have an opportunity to view research team lead profiles. At the conference, team members and leads will have the opportunity to meet and talk prior to collaboratively establishing research team assignments. Efforts will be made to ensure diversity and balance to all research teams.

A limited number of team members and projects will be selected.

Review Process for Team Members

Proposals for team members will be reviewed and selected by the 2020 conference planning team members and additional, invited, reviewers as needed.

A primary goal of this conference is to build strong interdisciplinary research teams focused on specific topics of concern for the field. Given this goal, research member submissions will be reviewed with a consideration for needed researcher or practitioner expertise, diversity of field/background, (researcher’s) methodological expertise, and alignment of with expected projects.
