Established by Andrea and Jerre Sumter, friends of the Honors College. The Andrea G. and Jerre D. Sumter Scholarship is awarded to a worthy Honors College student whose major is in the College of Arts and Sciences. The scholarship is automatically renewed annually for up to three years if the student has a 3.5 GPA or higher, writes a thank you note to their donor, and is in good standing with the Honors College and remains in the College of Arts and Sciences. This scholarship is for entering students, has currently been awarded, and will be available again for Fall of 2012.

The Bernard and Arline Ramsdale Fellowship is awarded to Honors College students for community service initiatives. This fund was established to enable Honors College students to engage in and learn from community service work. Preference is given to those students conducting fieldwork in the areas of AIDS-HIV issues, children's issues, education, housing, women's issues, and inter-generational programming. This fellowship is awarded at the beginning of each semester. Interested students should contact Dr. Susan Alexander to arrange an interview and complete and application.

The David D. Brown Scholarship is awarded to a worthy incoming student whose major is in the Moore School of Business with priority going to those in financial need. The scholarship is automatically renewed annually for up to three years if the student has a 3.5 GPA or higher, is in good standing with the Honors College, writes a thank-you note to the donor, and remains in the Moore School of Business. No application is necessary beyond the initial Honors College application.

The Deborah Y. Edwards Fund supports study abroad initiatives at the South Carolina Honors College. Currently, the fund primarily supports First Year Honors Passports. First Year Honors Passport funding is offered to several worthy first-year stunts who wish to study abroad but have not previously applied for a U.S. passport. The award will cover the cost of the passport application fee and will be award during the spring semester.

The Edmund Martin Foley Thesis Award is decided through the senior thesis grant application process. Eligibility will be determined by the Honors College thesis coordinator and review committee. The Foley family established this fund to assist students who are pursuing senior theses that reflect Edmund's interest in the "philosophy of mind or another topic addressed in his unique style: creative, thoughtful, tolerant, and fund loving."

The Belser scholarship is a full-tuition, need-based scholarship awarded to a worthy incoming Honors College freshman who demonstrates financial need, with preference given to students who are residents of South Carolina. Recipients must be pursuing a B.S. degree in on of the following disciplines: Biochemistry and Molecular Chemistry; Biological Sciences; Biology; Biomedical Engineering; Cardiovascular Technology; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Information Systems; Computer Sciences; Electrical Engineering; Engineering Sciences; Geological Sciences; Geophysics' Mathematics; Mechanical Engineering; Physics; or Statistics. The scholarship may be renewed annually for up to three years if the recipient remains in good standing with the Honors College and continues to study in the academic areas mentioned above. The Honors College application serves as the primary application for the Belser Scholarship; however, applications must also submit their FAFSA by March 1 of the year they will matriculate. Students who do not submit a FAFSA will not be considered for this scholarship. Additionally, applicants may submit a supplemental letter that further details their financial situations and academic work. Letters should be addressed to the dean of the Honors College and mailed to : Scholarships Committee, c/o Scholarships Coordinator, 220 Harper College, Columbia, SC 29208.

The Fishman Family and Komito Scholarship is awarded to junior and seniors whose majors are in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management or who have declared an interest in pre-law. If the recipient is a junior, the scholarship may be awarded for one consecutive year given the student maintains his/her current course of study, remains in good standing with the Honors College, and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Established in Honor of the two former Deans of the South Carolina Honors College. To qualify, interested students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be in good standing with the Honors College, and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is automatically renewed for rising seniors who received the award as rising juniors, if the above requirements continue to be met and they write a thank you note to their donor. Students beyond their fourth year may apply for this award. However, priority will be given to 3rd and 4th year students. Awards to 5th year students will be made on a funds-available basis. Students who hold the award during their 4th year, must reapply to receive it in their 5th year. To apply a student must write a letter to the Dean of the Honors College requesting consideration for the Mould/Sederberg Scholarship. The letter should detail the academic work that the student has been pursuing and hopes to continue to pursue. It should also discuss the student's financial situation and how this scholarship will help. Applications for the next academic year are due by April 1. The Mould/Sederberg Scholarship is awarded to rising juniors or seniors each year.

This scholarship is awarded annually to current and incoming students who have received no other University scholarship support. To qualify, interested out-of-state students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, have no USC or departmental scholarships, and be in good standing with the Honors College. Students beyond their 4the year may not eligible for this award. To receive this scholarship, students must submit a scholarship agreement form to the Honors College scholarship coordinator by April 1. Eligible transfer students may submit their applications no later that June 1.

This fund was created to support South Carolina Honors College students participating in Beyond the Classroom experiences, which includes, but is not limited to: study abroad/away, internships, research or community service/service learning. The fund can support students in a variety of ways depending on their plan and needs. Forms of support include, but are not limited to: scholarships, stipends, award, grants, airfare, reimbursements, etc. Decisions will be made by the South Carolina Honors College scholarship committee.

The Chi Omega Centennial Scholarship is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior who has exhibited a consistent level of commitment to serving others in the local and Gamecock community and who participates in extracurricular activities beyond academia, with priority going to those in financial need. To qualify, interested students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be in good standing with the Honors College. Applicants do not have to be members of Chi Omega.
